Came across this tutorial about converting photos to vector. I checked it out and it seems pretty straightforward so I gave it a try. After 4 hours...
Tada...
This is the first time I tried this. I think the highlights needs a little tweaking. I chose to do Jean's photo to cheer her up or make her laugh. She's been feeling a bit down lately due to an incident at work.
Suggestion, before doing this, buy a WacomGraphire (or Cintiq) unless, you want to get CTS to have an excuse to wear those cool wristguard thingy. A little more practice and lots and lots of spare time should be enough to create a high caliber vector art like this.
Update: Lyn just showed me a vector artist site, crisvector.com. Now that is real vector art.
You'll know if a song is good (or interesting) if it can disrupt you from whatever it is you're doing. This song caught my attention so I had to stop work/raket to listen to it. I think they're good although Brian Aubert sounds like Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria in the first part. Btw, their drummer is a pinoy.
It's been two days now since I came back from vacation and I can't still find the time to share the photos I took at Baguio. Work, raket and specially, the heat drains my last remaining energy to sort out those I want to upload in my Flickr page. Etomuna for starters, my smashing pamangkins:

myco: wasap hip-hop?
If I'll have the time this weekend. I'll upload some especially the items I got from ukay-ukay. hehe
Kung gusto mong magpapresko? Magpalamig ng ulo? Magpunta lang sa baguio, Oh anlamig-lamig dito! Oh ang ginaaa-haw! Oh ang ginaaa-haw! Oh ang ginaw sa baguio, naninigas ako-hoh!

I got this collection of 100 one hit wonders (1980-90) that I brought to the office a week ago. I didn't have the time to listen to it because I'm swamped with escalations (naks!) and I'm also studying our band's line-up... until now. Usually, I start my night at the office by plugging my earfones to my personal desktop MP3 player aka our Mac G5 test machine and running iTunes, then I randomly select my background music for the night. I was thinking about listening to The Ataris when I saw the Top 100 One Hit Wonders two playlist below it. Hmm... mapakinggan nga, after a few minutes, I'm off walking down on memory lane with my ex HS GF HHWWPSSP.
For the first hour I was listening to the hits of 4 Non Blondes, Chumbawamba, Vanilla Ice, Right Said Fred, etc... but you know, they're nothing compared to this:
haha... classic, hayup ng dance moves, kakabakla, syet!
Anyways, after this "awesome" moment that snapped me out of it, I realized I'm slacking off. So, I went back started to work.
You can tell when you're really working seriously (naks!) when you're at the point were you're not aware about the music anymore. right? So that's what I'm doing (naks!) until "Putting on the Ritz" was up. This song for some reason scares the shit out of me. I'm not referring to the original version that sounds like the tunes at Midway Boulevard at EK. It's the one that this Taco dude made. If you do not have any idea what I'm talking about, listen to this:
(Again, I said just listen, not watch this. Christopher Walken looks retarded here.)
For me, this version sounds so sinister. This is what I think I feel. Imagine this, you are alone at a cheap, dirty, poorly-lit abandoned motel and you'll be riding the elevator up. As it goes, you hear weird mechanical noises, like someone is wailing and screaming, and then this song plays through a busted mono elevator speakers with static and other ringu-like sound effects. You then started to feel more uneasy, like something seriously bad will happen before this song is over. The elevator started to shake more, the noise gets louder and more frequent, this time it sounds like a group of people whispering and scratching the walls to get in. It's also getting unusually cold as it continues to go up. In your head, you're desperately wishing that the song does not end, because you know the door will open after. With all those noises outside, you've become very afraid to go out now. A few seconds after, lights started to flicker, the whispers turn to high-pitched screams, the mild shakes turn to tremors.... you feel the elevator broke down and will fall any time now forcing you to hold on to the railings as tight as you can...... but suddenly the screaming and shaking stopped and the music reached the end. Before you catch your breath, the lights went out.... It's completely calm and silent now.... then... you hear a very low, resonating voice, telling you to come out now...... The door slowly opened...... scent of incense and rotten flesh fills the air.... and......... my phone rang, got a client on the line. to be continued...
After I got off the phone, I lost my train of thought... So, it's up to if you want to continue the story. What would be a great ending to this?
1. Kept referring yesterday as EasterSunday. 2. 400 / 4 = 50 3. Brought camera with no SD card.
KungsiConfuciusmeron golden rule na "do to others what you would have them do to you." angmga paparazzi naman eh merong "bring your camera anywhere anytime". I learned the hard way that this also applies to memory cards. Pakinshet, of all the time and place to forget bringing a card, baket pa sa gig ng The Dawn? gaddemet. The place was nice, lighting was great, the crowd was not that big, as in tamang-tamamakakuhangbagong pictures pang blog at pang prendster without blinding the person next to you with your ala-neuralizer-flash.The moment we got off the car till we got seated in the bar, I was praying real hard, in my head, that somehow, I'll come across with a friend who happens to have a spare SD card in his pocket. Well that didn't work. Good thing Jegs was nice enough to let me borrow her card for a while. At least, it was a good decision to bring the camera to the bar anyway.
The Dawn live at Aruba Bar M.O.A. Used a cam phone, pathetic (peromaganda tong phone mo alcy ah.. hehe)
3. We got our picture taken with Francis Brew as the amazing human light stand. heehee. Kahit overexposed, meronnamankwento. (Photo was taken by Aruba bar owner, Mr. Allan. Great guy.)
